FAQ
Q: Where can I park?
A: There is parking on-site.
Q: Can I bring a friend who isn’t participating in the event?
A: Unfortunately, due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate non-participating guests.
Q: Can I pay at the door?
A: While we strongly prefer that folks register prior to the event, as it helps us with event setup and logistics…day-of-event entry is open as well.
Q: Can I video parts of the event?
A: No; this is a private event, and we wish for all those present to be fully present in this event. While the event organizers reserve the right for media capture for use in our event write-ups, we ask all participants to keep media capture devices stowed for the duration of the event.
Q: I am not a member of the UUYC; do I have to be?
A: No! The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York County is an open and inclusive organization that is supportive of our event and principles. Joining in this event does not require you to have membership with the UUYC, nor will your registration information be shared with the UUYC. Should you be interested in learning more about the UUYC, you can visit their site or pick up any information on-site. In short, you don’t need to be a UUYC (or member of anything) to register and join in this event.
Q: This event is basically over lunch…what if I get hungry?
A: We’ve designed this event so that folks won’t have too early or too late of travel; thus, this time worked well for our thinking. While I ask you to refrain from bringing outside food on-site (save for those with medical needs), please bring a water bottle. We will have various teas and light snacks set up during our breaks.
Q: I’ve never been to an event like this…what should I to prepare?
A: Mainly, come with an open mind and a good attitude. No other major preparation needed. This is meant for folks of all levels of familiarity with meditation, with a strong focus on introductory information. Our only other recommendation for preparation is to come dressed in clothes that are comfortable!
Q: Will I be able to learn to meditate so I can levitate off the ground?
A: Um…maybe not immediately? Who knows? If you do levitate…maybe teach the rest of us?
Q: Will I be able to charge my phone on-site?
A: We highly recommend that you make sure your device is charged ahead of the event, and it’s probably a good idea to put it on battery-saving mode. Hemlock Studio and UUYC are not liable for any damage/theft/misplaced materials brought to the event by attendees.
